Void Filling

Void-filling with light-weight engineering filler grout

Uretek employs unique Benefil light-weight engineering filler/grout for decommissioning underground tanks, filling seawall voids & pipelines.

To fill large voids the Uretek company uses either Benefil amino plastic resins for their light-weight and great economy...OR Uretek resins for their great strength.

Benefil engineering filler/grout offers some unique advantages because of its super-light-weight, economy, resistance to hydrocarbons, solvents and other chemicals and its ability to be pumped over long distances. Site access problems are alleviated. And it's harmless to the environment.

Filling and Decommissioning of  Underground Tanks:

In less than an hour disused fuel tanks are filled and made safe: Benefil absorbs any residual hydro-carbons making tanks safe from explosion and adds little appreciable weight. So tanks can later be removed, transported whole and cut up safely. Clean Benefil can be recycled or used as landfill.

Filling Voids Behind Seawalls:

Behind seawalls, Benefil displaces water to correct scouring or the loss of fines due to tidal ‘lag'.

Compared to cement grout which can flow away and pollute, Benefil does not run. It encapsulates rubble, if it does escape, it floats and is easily contained.

Filling Pipelines

Expanded Benefil can be induced to travel well in excess of 100 metres. It is unique for filling pipelines and conduits. Residual fluids are forced ahead and expelled. An abandoned pipeline can be 100% filled, even if only one end is accessible. Uphill or downhill, it makes no difference - it wont run out!

When used to fill the interstitial (annular) space formed by relining, the new ‘slipline' will not collapse nor float when being installed. Soil loss due to ‘infiltration', can be corrected by filling the resultant voids from above.
