Uretek Opens North Australia Office

 Uretek covers The Northern Territory, Far North Queensland and The Kimberley Region

In May 2011 the Uretek company has established a Northern Australia office, headed by Greg Wearing, a well-known and experienced operator in construction circles. From a base in Parap, Darwin, Greg will be managing work for Uretek clients in The Northern Territory and right across the top of the continent from Far North Queensland to The Kimberley Region of Western Australia.

His major focus will be on industrial work: factories and warehouses, and, importantly, the mining industry.

Greg will also bring solutions to the problems of the maintenance of civil works such as roads, airports and rail lines in these remote areas subject to the extremes of weather.

Where required, Uretek service will also be offered to solve problems with the foundations of residential and commercial buildings.

A Modern Solution for Foundation Problems now in Northern Australia

Plenty of foundation problems are caused by ground sinking … usually caused by too little water, or too much! Months without rain can shrink reactive clay in the soil. Wet season wash-aways or broken pipes can also cause loss of foundation support.

In factories, warehouses and mine-sites similar problems can occur… plus the effects of increased loads from new machinery or truck movements. The result is the same: a need to re-support building footings and on-ground driveway and road slabs.

Uretek structural resin injection is a unique solution to these problems. Uretek raise, re-level and re-support buildings and roads etc fast and economically, eliminating bumps, ponding and trip hazards. Wall cracks tend to close up as footings are re-levelled. 

There’s minimal interruption to business or domestic activities! The work is done at night or low traffic times and one section at a time. Surprisingly, even heaviest traffic can use the area just 30 minutes after the work is done!

Uretek’s unique method involves injecting plural-component structural resin into the foundation ground. As the resin components mix, they expand, aggressively filling any voids. Soft ground is compacted, re-supporting the on-ground structure.

If lifting is required, further injections gradually raise the slab, or building footing. The work is guided by Uretek technicians constantly laser monitoring.

The Uretek was invented in Finland nearly 30 years ago, is now available in over 50 countries and has been used in Australia since the late 1990s – rapidly replacing the old-fashioned concrete underpinning as the preferred way to re-support all kinds of on-ground structures.
