Sinking House Relevelled by Uretek Underpinning

Sinking Houses Relevelled Quickly and Economically
Uretek releveled this sinking Brisbane house in just one day!
The photo on the left shows a key symptom of something that’s unfortunately become a common problem in recent years. Cracked wall brickwork can be caused by several factors, but the common cause now is the shrinkage of the clay soil beneath the house footings, due to the dry weather (drought, in fact) over the last few years.
This lovely 2 storey home in Mansfield, Brisbane, was typical of the ‘60s and ‘70s, with concrete slab footing. The dry conditions were exacerbated by tree roots seeking moisture, so the slab footing had sunk out of level, causing the brickwork to open up. The largest cracks were 22 mm wide.
Uretek is a modern, but proven, solution to releveling sinking houses
However the problems were readily solved by the relatively new and completely unique Uretek Method of underpinning. Invented in Finland nearly 30 years ago, it has been applied and developed in Australia over the last decade.
A very special, strong, structural resin mixture was injected into the ground underneath the slab and the whole house was re-supported, raised where required and re-levelled. As generally happens with this technique, the cracks in the wall brickwork closed-up almost completely.
At the same time a back patio concrete slab supported on piers resting on concrete pads was also relevelled.
The whole job was completed on budget and in just one day, without any need for the residents to move out!
House underpinned and level again. Cracks closed up. Home-owners delighted!
