Grout Technology
URETEK'S UNIQUE, ADVANCED GROUT TECHNOLOGY
Uretek is rapidly becoming known for its unique and patented method of relevelling buildings and roads, and also strengthening foundation ground.
The Uretek Method, as it is called, is a quite revolutionary, new approach to the age-old concepts of Grouting Technology.
In fact, Uretek represents the greatest leap forward in this field in modern times. Uretek allows engineers to perform easily some tasks that were previously problematic physically and/or economically and/or entailed huge disruption to clients’ activities.
Uretek has enabled some other engineering solutions that were previously impossible. For example, raising and re-supporting one corner of a brick house built over reactive clay soils without anchoring it so hard that differential support causes cracks in previously sound parts of the structure.
With Uretek “Slab Lifting” grout technology sunken buildings can be raised and relevelled relatively easily: rapidly and with minimal disruption.
Uretek “Deep Injection” is underground grouting technology that strengthens foundation or sub-base ground by compaction.
Expanding Structural Resin Grout Technology
The essential Uretek difference is its use of structural resins that expand when they mix together as they are injected into the ground.
In “Slab Lifting” the resin are injected under partially sunken on-ground structures like footing of buildings, concrete floors, roadways etc to raise them back to their correct levels.
In “Deep Injection” different types and mixes of Uretek resins are injected down into the ground to densify weak strata and strengthen the ground’s ability to support structures
All this can be done surprisingly quickly and cleanly.
The old traditional grouting methods of concrete underpinning and “mud jacking” (or “pressure grouting”: concrete slurry pumped in under hydraulic pressure) entailed drawback.
Mud jacking slurry breaks up and powders under the continual pounding of modern traffic.
Concrete underpins are huge, heavy blocks of concrete poured into the ground, making rigid anchors under the part of the buildings where they are set. Often other sections of the building move but the underpinned part does not. This can cause structure to crack severely. Also the excavation and removal of the debris is extremely messy and the time for the whole operation can cause stress and inconvenience un households plus industrial and civil situations.
There are no such drawbacks with Uretek.
Uretek Grout Technology is now well established
Many lessons have been learnt from the practical applications of Uretek’s unique expanding resin grouting technology in many different project situations and across most of developed world over the last 30 years. Uretek is now available in more than 50 countries - in Australasia, Europe, The Middle East, Asia and the Americas.
Knowledge of just where in a job site to apply injections, what has likely caused the problem to be rectified, which of the various and particular resin formulas to apply in the specific situation, how to measure, monitor and control the expansion and lift in a given situation.
Those are all additional aspects that have come from 3 decades of experience and interchange of ideas around the world to make Uretek the greatest advance in Grouting Technology.
